Lakes, Parks & Rivers

Chain of Lakes- Linden Hills - St. Anthony Main- Como - Minnehaha Falls

This is the “Minneapolis Outdoors” section - and one I’d make especially prominent for nature enthusiasts.

The Lakes - Bde Maka Ska, Lake of the Isles, Lake Harriet

  • Walk, bike, paddle, picnic, grab a coffee, or simply spend an afternoon by the water. The Chain of Lakes is one of Minneapolis’ defining outdoor experiences.

Linden Hills/South Minneapolis

  • Martina, Rosalia, Colita, Tilia, Sebastian Joes, Black Walnut Bakery, Sea Salt

    • This is a great area for an early morning or slower afternoon - neighborhood restaurants, coffee, dessert, shopping, and access to the lakes. and do NOT miss one of the city’s most recognizable natural attractions, Minnehaha Falls.

St. Anthony Main

  • Stone Arch Bridge, Father Hennepin Park, Aster Cafe, Jefe, Alma, Local Shops, St. Anthony Main Movie Theatre.

    • Walk across the Stone Arch Bridge, grab a drink or meal, and take in the Mississippi Rier and Minneapolis skyline. It’s one of the easiest areas to turn into a half day Minneapolis itinerary.

Como

  • Como Zoo & Conservatory, Lake Como, Lake Phalen

    • Especially good for families, with the zoo and conservatory providing an easy combination of animals, garden, and indoor/outdoor exploring.
